How to start a design studio

What is it like to start and run a design studio after graduating from design school? What are the daily challenges and how is it possible to combine business and creative decisions, and exploring challenging design solutions at the same time? All these questions and more will be discussed while giving an in-depth look into the daily routine of a small graphic design studio.

Max Pietro Hoffmann graduated from the KISD in 2016. After working as an employed Art Director for two years, he decided to start his own practice and established the Berlin-based design studio Autostrada Studios in late 2017. The studio oversees projects for cultural institutions, fashion labels, clients from the music industry and manufacturing companies. Since late 2020 the studio is also responsible for the art direction of form Design Magazine.
